The weeks of Advent remind us to set aside some of the hectic business of the holiday season, and to quietly reflect on the promise of the baby born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son. John 3:16
Advent is often spoken about as a time for ‘waiting for the coming of Jesus at Christmas’. Perhaps we could consider that it is a time when God is waiting for each of us; to come and sit with him and acknowledge the light of the Christmas star in the darkness, to give thanks for the gift He gives to us.
The month of December is a time of year when the days are growing warmer and our lists are getting longer. Often we become weary and even a little overwhelmed. Amidst the busyness of the business of Christmas, we need to hear the invitation from Jesus to ‘come to me, you who are weary and I will give your rest.’
May each of you this Advent find moments of peace, hope, joy and love ‘one in Christ’.
May you and your families receive the many blessings of the Christ child in your hearts and homes this Christmas.
With Every Blessing
